Şevket Başev has informed Japanese businessmen about Turkey

IMAP’s 2014 Fall Symposium took place in the capital of Japan, Tokyo. Combined with the 10th year Anniversary of Pinnacle Inc., exclusive member of IMAP in Japan, and surrounded by the members of IMAP from around the world as well as over 150 companies, and 500 reputable names from Japan’s politics, culture, and business environments, the Symposium’s keynote was given by the Foreign Minister of Japan, Mr. Fumio Kishida. As recommended by the Chairman of Pinnacle Inc, Ikuo Yasuda, the Turkish-Japanese business relationships were touched upon in a meeting in scope of the Symposium. Şevket Başev, the CEO of 3 Seas Capital Partners, gave a presentation to a group of Japanese businessmen, comprised of partners and executives of leading Japanese companies such as Mitsubishi, Canon, Dentsu, Nippon Express, NEC, Mitsui, Nomura, Marubeni, Hitachi, Fujitsu, Toshiba, and JTI, who attended the meeting.

Başev put an emphasis on the fact that these two unique countries, where tradition and modernity are synthesized, have remained good relationships at all times by referring to the historical roots of the relationship between Turkey and Japan and to the common characteristics of both societies. During his presentation, Başev also emphasized on the Japanese companies’ commitment to billion-dollar projects in Turkey such as the 22-billion-USD Sinop Nuclear Plant, Gulf of İzmit Bridge, and Marmaray Tunnel as well as the increased direct investments from Japan into Turkey, construction works, projects and M&A deals, and gave an insight on new business opportunities in different sectors. After Şevket Başev concluded his presentation, the meeting proceeded with the Q&A section, during which the attendees asked questions about the sectors they are interested in. After the official meeting had been concluded, the wide range of interest of the Japanese businessmen, primarily in IT, finance, retail, packaging, technology, and real estate, the attendees proceeded with bilateral conversations and networking.

3 Seas Capital Partners Founder and CEO, Şevket Başev, who served as the Chairman and the CEO of IMAP from 2010 to 2012, handed over his responsibilities as Chairman to Scott Eisenberg (Amherst Partners), shareholder of IMAP Detroit, USA, and Gilberto Escobedo (Serficor Partners), shareholder of IMAP Mexico, during the IMAP 2012 Fall Conference in Antalya in November 2012. Mr. Başev continues to partake in the IMAP Board of Directors as the Vice Chairman.

IMAP’s new Chairman Scott Eisenberg, also the founder and managing partner of IMAP Detroit, USA (Amherst Partners) has over 25 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, investment banking and management consulting and has advised more than 200 companies in various sectors. Mr. Eisenberg earned his Bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Illinois, his MBA in finance from Indiana University and is a CPA.

Gilberto Escobedo, who has been appointed President, is a founding partner of IMAP in Mexico (Serficor Partners). Mr. Escobedo has participated in buy- and sell-side assignments for more than 25 companies in several industries, in the design and implementation of financial structures for investment projects in the electricity, toll road, and petrochemical areas, as well as in private equity placements for middle market firms. Mr. Escobedo has earned his Bachelor’s degree at Mexico City Universidad Anahuac and has an MBA from the Booth School at the University of Chicago.

Imap’s 2011 Annual Report Displays Global Reach And Sector Expertise

2012’s first IMAP Event will be in China

IMAP's exclusive partner in China, InterChina will host the IMAP Global Investment Summit on March 29 in Beijing. The Summit will bring together in Chinese and global investors, focusing on cooperation and business opportunities.

The Summit is co-hosted by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM), one of the ministries of extreme importance involved in the economic development of China, and China Investment and Promotion Agency (CIPA), and will host high level executives from renowned Chinese organizations as well as global institutions. IMAP holds two large industry events annually in one of the 30 countries where IMAP has an office location.
